USAID Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) project is an adolescent co-led initiative to empower girls and boys, 10-19 years including the most marginalized, to attain their adolescent reproductive health (ARH) rights. The goal of the program is to support adolescents to reach their full potential by; ensuring they receive correct and appropriate reproductive health (RH) information and guidance to decision-making skills, creating an environment conductive in making healthy reproductive health decisions and facilitating translation of these decisions into healthy behaviors.

1. Province M & E and MIS Specialist – based in Surkhet

The M&E and MIS Specialist is primarily responsible for managing routine data collection work, feeding data into the MEL MIS platform, Integrated Health Management Information System (IHMIS), quality control of the data, and driving utilization of data for ARH project at the province. The Incumbent will support the consortium team to ensure data quality, validate data, analyze, translate and visualize findings in a timely manner, and produce periodic reports for use by the consortium teams for reporting purposes during regular reflection meetings. The Incumbent will closely work with the MEL Manager and Research and Knowledge Management Manager to ensure the quality of data, capture results, build evidence of project success, and encourage adaptive learning across project consortium partners. The Incumbent will ensure that all data collected, compiled, analyzed are accurate, appropriate, complete, consistent, and timely. The Incumbent will also feed in ARH project contributions to CARE Nepal and global MEL processes including PIRS and other MEL/KM initiatives. Local candidates are encouraged to apply.

The Mother and Child Wellbeing Partnership Program (MCWPP) in Nepal will be implemented in Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini, and Madhesh Provinces, targeting six districts with high rates of poverty, poor health and nutrition outcomes, and high rates of food and nutrition insecurity. The MCWPP aims to improve the wellbeing of children and their mothers in targeted districts of Nepal. 2. Health System Strengthening Specialist – based in Surkhet

Health System Strengthening Specialist (HSSS) will be responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring the implementation of MCWPP to support various health systems strengthening and governance activities at district, and municipal particularly focusing on maternal child health and nutrition (MCHN). Climate Smart Village Nepal (CSV-N) project, funded by  public funding program of the Austrian Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology (BMK), contributes in achieving Nepal’s NDC target promoting gender-responsive, climate resilient farming communities with low GHG emissions in Madhesh province Increased climate change resilience of 12,500 small scale and landless women, youth, and marginalized farmers will be triggered through the introduction of climate smart agriculture (CSA) practices such as water smart irrigation, seed smart,  carbon smart cropping practices etc which contributes to enhancing climate resilience of agri-food systems. The project will also strengthen the voice and leadership of women, youth, and marginalized farmers in development of local climate just policies, plans, and budgets, thereby contributing to sustainable, equitable access to information and resources for climate change adaptation and mitigation beyond the implementation.

3. Climate Smart Agriculture Specialist – based in Central Office

Climate Smart Agriculture Specialist supports CARE Nepal’s climate justice, resilience building, natural resource management, and women economic empowerment initiatives. CSA specialist is also responsible for stakeholder coordination, implementation, and reporting of Climate Smart Village Nepal (CSV -N) project. Depending on the situation, the incumbent may need to take a very active role in technical co-ordination, policy analysis and advocacy, needs assessment for new business development, knowledge brokering and stakeholder liaison. In addition, this position represents CARE Nepal in various resilience and climate change related forum at provincial, and national level.

WaterAid is a not-for-profit international development organization with a vision of a world where everyone, everywhere has safe and sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Since 1987, WaterAid Nepal has been reaching the most excluded people – women, girls, persons with disabilities, and those discriminated on the basis of caste – with the taps and toilets they need. WaterAid uses innovative technology to overcome challenges, working with Nepal’s natural landscape, and share our expertise with others, so more people can benefit.

WaterAid Nepal (WAN), with local partner Civic Forum, implemented the project ‘Foundations for the Future: Improved Learning Environment in Schools of Chaurideurali’ in Kavrepalanchowk until June 2024. While the overall project objective was to improve the learning environment for students in Chaurideurali through good hygiene practices including menstrual health and hygiene management (MHHM) for adolescent girls and implementation of WASH-related plans, policies, and infrastructure. The project focused on 1) providing access to safe water, improved sanitation, and good hygiene facilities, and 2) facilitating the schools to adopt national WASH guidelines with a focus on WASH resilience.

Interested consultants/firms are requested to submit technical and financial proposals. We change millions of lives every year, working in 28 countries to provide clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene. WaterAid has been working in Nepal since 1987. Our work in Nepal spans across 4 districts. We team up with local partners, technical experts, governments and communities to support the delivery of integrated WASH services in hard to reach communities, helping to transform lives. 

WaterAid Nepal is implementing “WASH GAINS: WASH for Gender and Adolescent Inclusive Schools in Nepal” project in Bardiya district from April 2023 to March 2026. The project is being implemented in 33 schools of five municipalities (Gulariya. Barbaridya, Madhuwan, Thakurbaba and Geruwa).The project aims to contribute for increased retention and completion of adolescent girls & children with disabilities (CwDs) in education by enhancing the quality learning environment for adolescent girls and CwDs in targeted schools of Bardiya.
