BASE Organization (Backward Society Education) is a leading NGO officially registered in 1991 in Dang with DAO and SWC. BASE has been working in the fields of WASH, Education, livelihood support, child labor elimination, women empowerment, income generation, conflict mitigation and peace promotion, environmental sustainability, disaster preparedness and response, infrastructure support and protection and promotion of traditional indigenous culture as well as increasingly working with beneficiaries from other marginalized communities.
BASE has been implementing ‘WASH for Gender and Adolescent Inclusive School in Nepal (WASHGAINS) Project’ in 33 schools of 5 municipalities (Madhuvan, Thakurbaba, Barbardiya, Gulariya Municipality and Geruwa Rural Municipality) in Bardiya district with the financial and technical support from Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO)/UK Aid Match (UKAM) and WaterAid Nepal. BASE intends to recruit qualified and experienced Nepalese citizens for the following positions:
Post: Sub-Engineer- (3 Position, based in Bardiya district)
Working Station: Madhuvan, Barbardiya, Thakurbaba, Gulariya Municipality and Geruwa Rural Municipality of Bardiya District.
QUALIFICATIONS
Diploma in Civil Engineering
At least 3 years of experience in Building/WASH sector and out of this 1 year experience in School WASH sector.
Good knowledge in documentation, report writing and presentation
Good Knowledge of WASH structure supervision of the construction
Tactfulness and excellent interpersonal skills
Having good idea of Auto CAD, GPS, Smart Phone, Microsoft Office package and other relevant designing software.
Good communication skills in Nepali.
Ability and willingness to work in team and to work under pressure and in remote areas
Demonstrated ability to:
communicate effectively with schools' representative, local project staff, municipalities, local communities, and government counterparts to work efficiently towards project objectives and targets.
work as an interdisciplinary team player to implement place-based activities and promote goals and objectives of project.
Work closely with colleagues in a team spirit, work in a difficult situation and school areas.
Having valid motorbike license will be mandatory.
