1. Province M & E and MIS Specialist – based in Surkhet

The M&E and MIS Specialist is primarily responsible for managing routine data collection work, feeding data into the MEL MIS platform, Integrated Health Management Information System (IHMIS), quality control of the data, and driving utilization of data for ARH project at the province. The Incumbent will support the consortium team to ensure data quality, validate data, analyze, translate and visualize findings in a timely manner, and produce periodic reports for use by the consortium teams for reporting purposes during regular reflection meetings. The Incumbent will closely work with the MEL Manager and Research and Knowledge Management Manager to ensure the quality of data, capture results, build evidence of project success, and encourage adaptive learning across project consortium partners. 3. Climate Smart Agriculture Specialist – based in Central Office

Climate Smart Agriculture Specialist supports CARE Nepal’s climate justice, resilience building, natural resource management, and women economic empowerment initiatives. CSA specialist is also responsible for stakeholder coordination, implementation, and reporting of Climate Smart Village Nepal (CSV -N) project. Depending on the situation, the incumbent may need to take a very active role in technical co-ordination, policy analysis and advocacy, needs assessment for new business development, knowledge brokering and stakeholder liaison. WaterAid uses innovative technology to overcome challenges, working with Nepal’s natural landscape, and share our expertise with others, so more people can benefit.

WaterAid Nepal (WAN), with local partner Civic Forum, implemented the project ‘Foundations for the Future: Improved Learning Environment in Schools of Chaurideurali’ in Kavrepalanchowk until June 2024. While the overall project objective was to improve the learning environment for students in Chaurideurali through good hygiene practices including menstrual health and hygiene management (MHHM) for adolescent girls and implementation of WASH-related plans, policies, and infrastructure. The project focused on 1) providing access to safe water, improved sanitation, and good hygiene facilities, and 2) facilitating the schools to adopt national WASH guidelines with a focus on WASH resilience.

KOSHISH, National Mental Health Self-Help Organization, established in 2008, is breaking the silence and amplifying voices of persons with mental health condition and psychosocial disability for inclusion of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) within and beyond the health system. KOSHISH promotes self-advocacy in the spirit of “NOTHING ABOUT US WITHOUT US.”

KOSHISH in partnership with CBM global is implementing the “Promoting Mental Health and Suicide Prevention” project with the overall objective to contribute to an inclusive environment where persons with psychosocial disabilities and other underrepresented/ disadvantaged groups enjoy their rights in Gandaki Province in the districts of Kaski, Lamjung and Gorkha from 2024-2027.

Job Overview and Core Purpose:

The Documentation And Meal Officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of KOSHISH programs and projects as a team member. S/he will contribute significantly to the organization's growth and impact by designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation frameworks, conducting regular assessments, provide technical input for the project team and generating valuable insights/ learning to enhance its interventions and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Support for Official MIS

  • Provide technical input for defining organizational data needs
  • Support the consultant to finalize Official MIS at each phase of the development
  • Capacity building of the staff on reporting in Official MIS

Performance Monitoring/ Tracking and Evaluation

  • Develop M&E Framework for the organization and projects and implement them with the project team
  • Develop work plan (DIP, PIP) in accordance to project activities and ensure its timely implementation along with project team.
  • Develop various tools for tracking changes including Indicator tracking sheet, M&E plans, monitoring checklists and other tools as per the requirements of the existing projects
  • Regular Data collection, collation, storage, analysis,
  • Tracking and reporting of progress on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis against performance indicators
  • Database management, of the project beneficiaries/stakeholders with disaggregation in line with organizational requirements
  • Periodic field visit for field monitoring and technical input for the project team
  • Develop TOR for project evaluation and provide critical input on evaluation reports
  • Develop action plans to implement key recommendations

Quality Assurance

  • Preparation of quality benchmarking tools and use in field monitoring
  • Conduct internal data quality assessment (assurance) as per the project requirements
  • Ensure the consistency and quality aspects of the data generated in the projects/programs
  • Organize orientation and technical support to project teams on collection of data, maintaining database, analysis, and reporting.
  • Carry out quarterly, semi-annual and annual review and regular impact assessment

Communication and Accountability

  • Ensure that the yearly plans are smoothly implemented and feedback is shared with the project teams on a timely basis.
  • Establish proper communication channel with project team/ beneficiaries/ stakeholders for capturing their input, suggestion and feedback
  • Support communication team to prepare KOSHISH annual reports

Learning and Documentation

  • Support in quality documentation, capture evidence, lessons learnt, good practices and case stories/ human interest stories of ongoing programs and projects in close coordination with communication and documentation unit and project teams and disseminate them in different platforms.
  • Produce Periodic M&E reports highlighting key findings and recommendation
  • Any other task as assigned by the organization.

Qualifications & Essential Qualities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Development Studies, Social Work, Statistics, Research or equivalent
  • At least 3 years work experience in the relevant field of monitoring and evaluation, program development, project management, and/ or research work with experience of designing log frame or RBM matrix.
  • Good understanding and passionate about mental health and psychosocial disability issues
  • Excellent writing skill in English and Nepali languages
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork
  • Dynamic, flexible and motivated to work for the cause.
  • Willing to travel to project locations and other possible locations for project development.

  • Help the Manager, Programs in reporting and in guiding the programs as per the project specifications

Qualifications:

  • Post Graduate in Social Work with a minimum of seven years of relevant experience.

Location: Both the positions are based in Kathmandu with travel to various districts as and when needed.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City: Recruitment for City Volunteers for the Book Free Friday Program

The education department of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City announces the opening for 140 city volunteers. This initiative is part of the Book Free Friday Program aimed to integrate practical learning of the students through experiential learning with fun concepts, every Friday. Each selected volunteer will be assigned to a school where they will be mainly engaged with eco-club students (25-27 members of the BABA “Baalbalika Tathaa Batawarran” club) to enhance the learning experiences of the students in environmental stewardship through their active engagement.


Objective:

Empower the youth by providing knowledge beyond textbooks, shaping their Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAP).


Position and Requirements:

  • Number of Vacancies: 140 City Volunteers
  • Educational Qualification: At least Bachelor running in environmental studies, public health, Sociology, Development Studies, Culture and History, Tourism and Hotel Management etc.  
  • Contract Duration: Minimum of 6 months.


Additional Criteria:

  • Priority: Residents of Kathmandu Metropolitan City and individuals with prior volunteering experience will be given preference
  • Selection Process: Candidates will be shortlisted and interviewed, with the final list being published after interviews

Time Commitment:
 

Volunteers are expected to commit two days a week (Thursday & Friday), contributing to the Book Free Friday Programs.

Responsibilities:

The selected city volunteers will be assigned to certain schools in Kathmandu Metropolitan City. After receiving training from the experts, volunteers will go to the assigned school every Friday and be engaged with the eco club to conduct different modules, trainings, and programs. Volunteers are also responsible for acting as a focal person for the school and documenting the activities done under their leadership.
